| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Arthmetic sequence | A number sequence formed by adding a fixed number to each previous term. |
| Common difference | The fixed number added to each term of an arthmetic sequence |
| Conjecture | The conclusion reached by inductive reasoning |
| Constant of variation | the non zero constant K in the function.Y=KX |
| Dependent variable | A variable that provides the output values of the function |
| Direct variation | A linear function that can be expressed in the form Y=KX where K does not = Zero |
| Domain | The set of all of the first coordinates in the ordered pairs of a relation |
| Function | a relation that asigns exactly one value in a change to each value of the domain |
| Funstion notation | To write a rule in function notation you use the symbol F(X)in the p-lace of Y |
| Function Rule | An equation that describes the function |
| independent variable | a variable that provides the input values of a function |
| Inductive reasoning | making conclusions based on observed patterns |
| Range | the difference between the greatest and the least data values for a set of data |
| relation | any set of ordered pairs |
| sequence | a number pattern |
| term | a number variable or product or quotent of a number and one or more variables |
| vertical line test | a method used to determine if a relation is a function or not. If a verticle line passes through a graph more than once, the graph is not the graph of a function. |
