climax the moment of the story where the problem gets solved
theme the idea about life revealed in a story (work of literature)
tone the attitude the writer takes toward the characters and audience
mood the overall emotion/feelings created by a story (work of literature)
style voice specific to the writer and his/her personality
inference the ideas the reader forms about a story (work of literature) that is NOT directly stated
work of literature a fictional story or novel
conflict a struggle between two or more characters, around which the tension of the story is about; a problem to be solved
rising action the main part of the story after the author reveals the conflict and continues to the climax
resolution the ending of the story, which identifies how the struggle is resolved
characterization the method an author uses to reveal characters and their personalities
point of view view from which the story is told: first person, second person or third person
