Banking Words

TermDefinition
Balance the amount of money in a checking account
Canceled Check a check the bank has marked "paid" to show that it can not be used again.
Checking Account a banking plan that lets you pay bills - money for everyday spending
Minimum Balance the lowest amount of money in your checking account
Service Charge a fee you pay the bank for aking care of of your money
Balance forwarded balance form the page before in a check register.
Check register a book to keep track of the check you write, deposits you make and ATM withdrawls and other transcations
Check Stub the part of the check that tells about the check
Bank statement a form the bank sends out each month listing all the transacations made that month
Beginning balance the balance in a bank account at the befinning of the time the bank statement covers
Closing date the date the bank sattement is made out by the bank, the date of the last transaction on that statement
Ending balance the balance in a bank account at the end of the time the bank statement covers
Outstanding check a check you have written that has not yet cleared the bank
