|---|---|---|---|
| This needs a little bit of an intro, so first we will be doing the electromagnetic spectrum. I will say 1(long wavelength and lowest energy) all the way to 7 (shortest wavelength and highest energy) | Sorry, got to long(:. We will than move on to speed of waves through different subjects and than term definition, oh and I forgot to mention, we will have examples for each thing in the electromagnetic spectrum. | Ready? | Let's get startled! |
| 1 | Radio | Radios, TV's | |
| 2 | Micro | Microwave ovens | |
| 3 | Infrared | Infrared heaters, heat goggles | |
| 4 | Visible Spectrum | Seeing things | |
| 5 | Ultraviolet | Black light(see finger prints-cops) | |
| 6 | X-rays | X-rays | |
| 7 | Gamma | Cancer Treatment | |
| Speed of Light through Space | 186,000 miles/second | ||
| Sound wave through Iron | 5,200 meters/second | ||
| Sound wave through Water | 1,520 meters/second | ||
| Sound wave through Air | 330 meters/sec | ||
| Light | A type of need humans can see, this may be different, nobody really know how to define light you could have 100 years worth of projects in it | ||
| Wave | A disturbance In 1 or more fields | ||
| Transverse Wave | Save vibrating at right angles to the direct of its propagation | ||
| Longitudinal Wave | Sound wave, looks like a coil | ||
| Crest | High point of a transverse wave, tight part of Longitudinal wave | ||
| Trough | Low point of a transverse wave lose part of a longitudinal wave | ||
| Compression | A more common name for the crest of a Longitudinal wave | ||
| Rarefation | More common name for the trough of a longitudinal wave | ||
| Amplitude | Distance from resting position to crest/trough | ||
| Frequency | # of waves that pass through in a certain amount of time | ||
| Wavelength | Distance from one point in a wave to that point on the next wave | ||
| Midline/Testing Position | Where molecules rest when not pushed back the wave, in the middle of the crest and trough | ||
| Decibels | A measure of volune, 1/10 of a Bel |
