Semantics | the meaning of a word, phrase, sentence, or text |
Syntax | the arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language |
Morphology | the study of the forms of words: root words, prefix, suffix |
Phonology | systems of sounds to create words (including phonetics) |
Pragmatics | language in use and the contexts in which it is used: sarcasm |
Informal Communication | language and phrases used with friends and close family "real-life," |
Technical | refers to the skills or terminologies that are typically best understood by people who specialize in that field or area. |
Formal | language and phrases used in job interviews, with people of authority, or in mass communication. |
oral language | is the system through which we use spoken words to express knowledge, ideas, and feelings. |
eye contact | looking at the audience while speaking to seem believable and confident. |
poster | Standing with confidence |
pace | speaking at an appropriate speed. |
projection | Speaking loud enough to be heard but not yelling |
