School of Idea Meaning is more important than how it looks, Symbolic meaning
School of Form How art looks is so realistic that it does not need to rely on symbolism, needs to look realistic
Perspective Using a vanishing point closer objects become more clear and details and objects farther away are smaller and blurry
Proportion Balance within a picture.
Fresco Painting on wet plaster.
Turpentine A volatile oil distilled from gum turpentine or pine wood, used in mixing paints.
Vernacular Everyday speech of the people.
Movable Type Type which text is printed directly, and each character is on a separate piece of metal.
Texture The feel of a surface or fabric.
Classicism a movement in literature and art during the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe that favored rationality and restraint and strict forms
