TermDefinition
relations a relationship between sets of values, the x-values and y-values of ordered pairs. The set of all x-values is called the domain, and the set of all y-values is called the range.
function A special relationship where each input has a single output. It is often written as "f(x)" where x is the input value.
range y-coordinates are the dependent values, which means that they are the range.
domain y-coordinates are the dependent values, which means that they are the range.
interval notation a way to describe continuous sets of real numbers by the numbers that bound them.
vertical line test a visual way to determine if a curve is a graph of a function or not. A function can only have one output, y, for each unique input, x.
