| Melting | state of matter change, occurs when a solid goes to a liquid |
| Boiling | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid goes to a gas. this occurs throughout the entire liquid |
| Evaporation | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid goes to gas. this occurs on the surface of the liquid |
| freezing | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid goes to a solid |
| condensation | state of matter change, occurs when a gas goes to liquid |
| Deposition | state of matter change, occurs when a gas goes to a solid |
| sublimation | state of matter change, occurs when a solid goes to a gas |
