organization of periodic table/particles
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| metals | found on the far left of the periodic table |
| metalloids | zig zag line on the table, in the middle/right |
| non metals | fond on the far right of the periodic table |
| luster | characteristics or metals, and it means to shine |
| malleable | characteristics of metals, and it means to be able to be flattened without crumbling |
| ductile | characteristics of metals, and it means to be drawn out into a thin wire |
| semi conductor | characteristics of metalloids, and it means to conduct heat and electricity sometimes |
| brittle | characteristics of non metals and means to crumble |
| dull | characteristics of non metals and means to have no luster |
| corrosive | characteristics of metals, and it means to rust |
| melting | state of matter change, occurs when a solid becomes a liquid |
| boiling | state of matter change, occurs when heat is added to a liquid, and the liquid becomes a gas |
| evaporation | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid becomes a gas |
| freezing | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid becomes a solid |
| condensation | state of matter change, occurs when cooling happens to a gas, making it a liquid |
| deposition | state of matter change, occurs when a state of matter condensates then freezes |
| sublimation | state of matter change, occurs when a solid becomes a gas without becoming a liquid first |
