rational numbers the set of numbers that can be written as fractions
integers the set of numbers that includes only WHOLE positive & negative amounts and zero
positive numbers all numbers greater than zero
negative numbers all numbers less than zero
opposite numbers a pair of numbers that have opposite signs (same numeral)
additive inverse the opposite of a number so that the 2 values add to zero
vector a symbol that shows length and direction
absolute value the distance a number is from zero
