Circle Data & Measures of Center
| Term | Definition |

| Circle Graph | Used to show the relationship of parts to the whole. |
| Data | Pieces of information gathered by observation, questioning, or measuring. |
| Bar Graph | Used to compare categories or values. |
| Pictograph | Used to show frequencies and compare items. |
| Line Plot | Shows the frequency on a number line. |
| Inference | A conclusion or decision reached based on evidence. |
| Prediction | A forecast of what you think is going to happen based on evidence. |
| Trend | A general direction that something is happening. |
| Observation | When you look at something carefully to gather information. |
| Frequency | The actual number of times something happens. |
| Sample | A section of a whole group. |
| Measure of Center | A number that best represents a set of data. |
| Mean | The average of the data set. |
| Median | The middle value in an ordered data set. |
| Mode | The value that occurs the most in a data set. |
| Balance Point | A point on a number line where a set of data is evenly distributed on either side of this point. |
| Outlier | A number much smaller or bigger than the rest of the data. |
| Range | The difference between the highest and lowest data point. |
