acquaintance Somebody who have met a few times and maybe talked to a little, but do not know properly.
fair-weather friend A friend who uses you when it's convenient for them.
fellow student Someone who you study with.
flatmate Somebody you live with.
girlfriend A friend who is a girl.
old friend A friend you have had for a long time.
true friend A friend who supports you through everything.
workmate Somebody you work with.
travel companion Somebody who accompanies you on a holiday, but who you didn't know before.
mutual friend Someone who happens to be a friend to both people in a pair.
