| Slab | n. A broad, flat, thick piece, as of bread, stone, or meat. |
| Possessions | n. Something that is owned; a belonging. |
| Tenement | n. An old apartment house that is badly maintained. |
| Crushing | v. To press, squeeze, or bear down on with enough force to break or injure. |
| Rubble | n. Broken or crumbled material, such as brick, that is left when a building falls down. |
| Debris | n. The scattered remains of something broken or destroyed. |
| Timbers | n. A long, heavy piece of wood for building; beam. |
| Constructed | v. To make by fitting parts together; build. |
