How do you attach object and reflexive pronouns to negative tú commands? No + Object Pronoun + Tú Command Verb
What does impersonal se do? Expresses generalizations, doesn't specify who carried out the action, similar to English impersonal - you, they, one, people
What verb tense is used wtih Impersonal se? Third personal singular verb tense.
What are direct objects? The thing or person getting the action of a verb. Answers what? or whom? usually.
What are the direct object pronouns? (there are six, but 8 counting the masculine and feminine of the third person) me, te, lo, la, nos, os, los, las
What are the subject pronouns? There are six. Yo, tu, el, nosotros, vosotros, ellos
What is the subject pronoun in the sentence: El come la comida, and what does the sentence mean? El is the subject pronoun. He eats the food.
Where does the subject pronoun go? Same order as the subject it replaces. Carlos eats food, he eats food.
Where does the direct object pronoun go? Always before the first conjugated verb.
Carlos introduces you (translate to Spanish) Carlos te presenta.
Presentas Carlos (translate to English) You introduce Carlos. (Note that Tu is dropped b/c everyone knows you mean you)
He introduces her (translate to Spanish) El la presenta.
If there are two verbs in a sentence, which do you conjugate? Only the first verb is conjugated.
How do you say "I want to eat the chicken." Quiero comer el pollo. (Conjugate only querer)
What is an unconjugated verb called? Infinitive
When is a verb reflexive? When the subject is the same as the receiver of the verb's action. Think mirror reflection.
How do you make a normal -ar, -er, -er ending verb reflexive? Ad -se after the r
ver = see: Make it reflexive ver+se = verse
duchar ducharse shower shower oneself (reflexive)
In spanish, when is a verb reflexive? Any time the verb's action goes back to the same person.
Translate: I take a shower. Me ducho.
Translate: You take a shower. Te duchas.
Translate: He showers. El se ducho. NOT el lo ducha!
What are the direct, indirect, reflexive pronouns that are all exactly the same? Me, you, us, you both: me, te, nos, os.
What are the reflexive pronouns for him/her and them? se for both!
Como se llama? What's his name?
Me siento. I sit.
How do you refer to body parts in a sentence? Use the - so el or la
Translate: I wonder. Me pregunto.
