it's for math class about math words

QuestionAnswer
absolute value the number's distance from 0 on the number line
negative numbers Are numbers less than 0, they must always be written with a negative sign.
negative sign sign used to indicate negative quantity or a subtraction
of it means multiply ex: 25% of 42
equation a statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal (indicated by the sign =)
equals sign the symbol =
variable a symbol for a number we don't know yet. It is usually a letter like x or y. Example: in x + 2 = 6, x is the variable
solution a value, or values, we can put in place of a variable (such as x) that makes the equation true
dependent variable
