Compatible number Two numbers that are close in value (friendly numbers)
Difference The result of subtracting one number from another
Equation The process of making 2 things equal
Estimation Make a reasonable guess about something
Expanded Form Writing a number in a way that notes its place value
Friendly Number Numbers that can be easily computed
Horizontal A line that runs from left to right across a surface
Model A visual representation of the math problem
Place Value The value of a digit depending on its place within a number
Reasonableness Determination of how sensible something is
Round A determination of which friendly number the actual number is closes to
Subtraction The process of taking a specific number away from a group
Sum The result of adding two or more numbers
Symbol An object or picture that represents something else
Unknown Number A number we do not know, usually represented by a symbol
Vertical A line that runs up and down
