What is velocity? Motion in a specific direction.
What is speed? The rate of change in an object's motion over time
Explain displacement. the moving of something from its place or position.
What is distance? The amount of space between two or more objects
Explain acceleration. Tell three ways an object can accelerate. A change in direction; speeding up, or slowing down
Explain why deceleration is also acceleration. Because the speed is changing
What does a flat line on a distance/time graph represent? no movement
Greater slope up means ____________ on a distance/time graph. faster movement away from start
Greater slope down means ____________ on a distance/time graph. faster movement towards the start
What does a flat line on a velocity/time graph represent? steady speed
What does an upward slope on a velocity/time graph represent? faster speed
What does a downward slope on a velocity/time graph represent? slowing
What does constant velocity mean? constant speed, same direction
Tell three ways velocity can change. mass, speed, & direcion
If an object’s mass increases, its acceleration will ______________. decrease
Force = _________ x ____________ Mass x acceleration
What are unbalanced forces? two forces acting on an object whose net force is equal to something other than 0.
