Math Statistics Vocabulary

the difference between the greatest value and the least value in a set of data range
the average distance between each data value and the mean mean absolute deviation
a description of how spread out the data in a set are variability
the data value(s) the occurs most often in a set of data mode
the sum of all data values divided by the total number of data values; average mean
the difference between the first and third quartiles interquartile range
a way of displaying data on a number line to show the distribution of a data set box plot or box-and-whisker-plot

the middle value in a set of data values that are written in order from least to greatest median
