Acute angle An angle that has a measure less than a right angle (less than 90*)
Obtuse angle An angle that has a measure greater than a right angle. (Greater than 90*)
Right angle An angle that forms a square corner and measures 90*
Straight angle An angle in which 2 rays point in opposite directions so that they form a line
Angle Is formed by 2 rays or line segments that have the same endpoint (vertex)
Point An exact location in space
Line A straight path of points that continues withOUT end in both directions
Line segment A part of a line between 2endpoints
Ray Part of a line that has one endpoint and continues without end in 1 direction
Acute triangle A triangle with 3 acute angles
Obtuse triangle A triangle with one obtuse angle
Right triangle A triangle with one right angle
Intersecting lines Lines in a plane that cross at exactly one point which forms 4 angles
Parallel lines Are lines in a plane that are ALWAYS the same distance apart and NEVER intersect.
PerpendiculaR lines Lines in a plane that intersect to form 4 right angles
Parallelogram A quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel sides & 2 pairs of sides of Equal length
Trapezoid A quadrilateral that has At least 1 pair of parallel sides
Rhombus A quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel sides and 4 sides of equal length
Rectangle A quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel sides and 2 pairs of sides of equal length AND 4 right angles
Square A quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel sides and 4 equal lengths AND 4 right angles
Quadrilateral A polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles
Line OF symmetry Divides a shape into 2 parts that are the SAME size and shape
Line symmetry When a shape can be folded about a line and the 2 parts match exactly
