Gas, liquid, solid, plasma vocabularies

| characteristics | a special quality or appearence that makes an individual or group different from others |
| endothermic | characterized by or formed with absorbtion of heat |
| energy | power or ability to be active; the ability to do work |
| evaporate | to pass off or cause to pass off into vapor from a liquid |
| exothermic | characterized by or formed with the giving off of heat |
| gas | a fluid (such as hydrogen or air) that has no fixed shape and tends to expand without limit |
| liquid | a fluid that has no independent shape but has a definite volume and does not expand indefinitely |
| mass | th quantity of matter in a body |
| melt | to change from a solid to a liquid state, usually through heat |
| properties | special quantities of something |
| shape | outward shape; something having a certain form |
| solid | a substance that keeps its size and shape |
| volume | an amount of space as measured in cubic units |
| plasma | a collection of charged particles containing about equal numbers of positive ions and electrons and exhibiting some properties of a gas but differing from a gas in being a good conductor of electricity and in being affected by a magnetic field |
