| Characteristics | A special quality or appearance that makes an individual or group different from others |
| Endothermic | Characterized by or formed with absorption of heat |
| Energy | Power or ability to be active; ability to do work |
| Evaporate | To pass off or cause to pass off into vapor from a liquid |
| Exothermic | Characterized by or formed with the giving off of heat |
| Gas | A fluid (such as hydrogen or air) that has no fixed shape and tends to expand without limit |
| Liquid | A fluid that has no independent shape but has a definite volume and does not expand indefinitely |
| Mass | The quantity of matter in a body |
| Melt | To change from a solid to a liquid state, usually through heat |
| Properties | Special qualities of something |
| Shape | Outward appearance; something having a certain form |
| Solid | A substance that keeps its size and shape |
| Volume | An amount of space as measured in cubic units |
