lyric poem a poem that tells about ones experiences
narrative poem poem that tells a story stressing characters and plot
assonace the repittion of similar sounds
consonace the repition of the same final constant
alliteration the repitition of constant sounds that are similar
half rhyme an imperfect rhyme
scanning To analyze verse by picking out its metrical patterns of stressed and unstressed syllables.
