| Electron-Dot Notation | The Lewis dot notation consists of the kernel and the valence electrons represented by dots. |
| Nomenclature | A set of rules to generate systematic names for chemical compounds. |
| Polar Covalent | A chemical bond in which the electrons required to form a bond is unequally shared between two atoms. |
| Covalent bond | Is a chemical bond that involves the sharing of electron pairs between atoms. |
| Oxidation # | A number assigned to an element in chemical combination which represents the number of electrons lost by an atom of that element in the compound. |
| Metallic Bond | The chemical bonding that holds the atoms of a metal together. |
| Nonpolar Covalent | Are a type of bond that occurs when two atoms share a pair of electrons with each other. |
| Polyatomic Ion | Is a charged chemical species composed of two or more atoms covalently bonded or of a metal complex that can be considered to be acting as a single unit. |
| Ionic Bond | Is when a positively charged ion forms a bond with a negatively charged ions and one atom transfers electrons to another. |
| Stock Sytem | In the Stock system, the oxidation states of some or all of the elements in a compound are indicated in parentheses by Roman numerals. |
| Octet Rule | States that every atom wants to have eight valence electrons in its outermost electron shell. |
