TermDefinition
Onerous (Task, duty, responsibility) involving an amount of effort and difficulty that is oppressively burdensome; difficult, requiring hard labor
Auspicious Conductive to success; favorable
Gregarious Fond of company; sociable
Levity Humor or frivolity, especially the treatment of a serious matter with humor or in manner lacking due respect
Boisterousness Noisy, energetic, and cheerful; rowdy
Cogency The quality of being clear, logical, and convincing; lucidity
Privity A relation between two parties that is recognized by law, such as that of blood, lease, or service.
Averred State or assert to be the case; allege as a fact in support of a plea
Pundit An expert in a particular subject or field who is frequently called on to give opinions about it to the public
Stems The main body or stalk of a plant
Hectic Full of incessant or frantic activity
Mundane Lacking interest or excitement; dull
Contented Happy and at ease
Perpetuate Make something (undesirable situation) continue indefinitely
Subterfuge Deceit used in order to achieve one’s goal. Deception
Vilify To speak ill of; defame; slander
Rebuttal Refute by evidence or argument; to oppose by contrary proof
Consolation To alleviate or lessen the grief, sorrow, or disappointment of; give solace or comfort.
Consecration Dedication to the service and worship of a deity
Subtle Fine or delicate in meaning intent.
Augurs To divine or predict, as from omens; prognosticate; prophet
Shards A fragment, especially of broken earthenware; zoology: scale or shell
Pottery Ceramic ware, especially earthenware and stoneware.
