Figurative language When you use a word or phrase that does not have it's every day meaning
Personification Giving a nonhumen word humen qualities
onomatopoeia The formation of a word from a sound
Rhyme scheme A pattern of rhyming words in a poem.
Alliteration Repeated beginning sound for effect.
Repetition The repeating of words or phrases for effect.
Line Shows the reader when to pause. Also known as a sentence in poetry
Stanza A complete thought in a poem.
Speaker The person whose's point of view is written from.
Poet The author of a poem.
