| Coefficient | -A number used to multiply a variable. |
| Constant | -A number on its own, or sometimes a letter such as a, b or c to stand for a fixed number. |
| Distributive Properties | -Lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products. |
| Equivalent | -Similar or identical in value, meaning or effect; virtually equal. (mathematics) Of two sets, having a one-to-one relationship. |
| Exponent | -The exponent of a number says how many times to use that number in a multiplication. It is written as a small number to the right and above the base number. |
| Factor | -A number means to break it up into numbers that can be multiplied together to get the original number. |
| Product | -The result of multiplying, or an expression that identifies factors to be multiplied. |
| Substitution | -A strategy for solving systems of equations that include solving for one variable and using that solution to find the other variable. |
| Sum | -The aggregate of two or more numbers, magnitudes, quantities, or particulars as determined by or as if by the mathematical process of addition |
| Quotient | -The result of dividing one number by another. |
| Variables | -A quantity that may change within the context of a mathematical problem or experiment. Typically, we use a single letter to represent a variable. |
