| Red super giant | The stage in the life cycle of a massive star during which the star increases in size and becomes very bright. |
| supernova | A gigantic explosion in which a massive star collapses and throws its outer layers into space |
| neuton star | a star that has collapsed under gravity to the point that the electrons and protons have smashed together to form neutrons |
| giant star | a very bright star of large diameter and low density (relative to the Sun) |
| black hole | An object in space whose gravity is so strong not even light can escape. |
| steller nursey / nebula | A large cloud of dust and gas in space |
| Red giant | A star that expands and cools once it runs out of hydrogen fuel |
| planetary nebula | a ring-shaped nebula formed by an expanding shell of gas around an aging star. |
| white dwarf | Stage in which a star has used up its helium and its outer layers escape into space, leaving behind a hot, dense core that contracts |
| black dwarf | what a medium-mass star becomes at the end of its life |
| Emission spectrum | a series of bright lines of particular wavelengths produced by a hot gas under low pressure |
