Ratios and Proportional Reasoning

TermDefinition
Ratio A comparison between two quantities.
Unit Rate The ratio of two measurements in which the second term is 1.
Equivalent Ratios Two ratios that express the same relationship between numbers.
Rate Table A structured list of equivalent rates/ratios that helps us understand the relationship between them.
Percent One part in every hundred.
Benchmark Percent Values used when estimating a solution involving percentages.
Unit Conversion A multi-step process that converts units of measurement.
Quantity A particular or indefinite amount of anything.
Part A piece, or some, but not all of something; a percentage of 100%
Whole All of something; 100%
