Rates and Factors

TermDefinition
Growth Factor When a function is going up, it’s the number that any y-value gets multiplied by to get to the next y-value
Decay Factor When a function is going down, it’s the number that any y-value gets multiplied by to get to the next y-value
Exponential Function a function where you either multiply or divide, to get to the next number
Increasing at an increasing rate a function that is going up faster and faster as you move right
Increasing at a decreasing rate a function that is always going up, but goes up slower and slower as you move right
Decreasing at an increasing rate a function that is going down faster and faster as you move right
Decreasing at a decreasing rate a function that is always going down, but slower and slower as you move right
