Where does Simon often go alone? To a clearing in the jungle
How do the boys sleep? Their sleep is filled with nightmares and crying out.
What happens when the signal fire goes out? A ship passes by.
Why does the fire go out? Because the boys in charge of the fire went hunting
What do the boys do during the feast? They dance around the fire chanting.
What happens to Piggy’s glasses? Jack throws them and a lens breaks
What does Ralph think about his hair? He’s annoyed it’s gotten long and mangy and hangs in his eyes.
Why does Ralph call a meeting late in the evening? To express his frustration that nothing is getting done
What are the littluns terrified of and having nightmares about? A beast or monster on the island
Where does Percival say the beast comes from at night? From the sea
What happens to the group at the end of the meeting? Jack runs off with most of the older boys.
What comes down from the sky? A dead pilot with his parachute
What do Sam and Eric think they see in the morning? The beast
Where does the expedition take Jack and Ralph? To a cave in an unexplored part of the island
What do the other boys do while Jack and Ralph are exploring? They roll rocks off a cliff.
What do the boys want to do when Ralph says they have to keep searching? Build a fort where they are
