Key terms from the play Twelve Angry Men

acquittal the act of deciding that a person is not guilty of a crime
unanimous agreed to by everyone
1st-degree murder a crime in which one wrongfully causes the death of another person after rationally considering the timing or method of doing so
Fifth Amendment guarantees that a person on trial for a criminal offense cannot be forced to testify against him or herself
burden of proof duty or obligation of the prosecution to demonstrate the defendant’s guilt
sadist a person who enjoys inflicting pain on others. (Juror THREE is perhaps one.)

conviction the act of proving that a person is guilty of a crime in a court of law
bigot a person who hates or refuses to accept the members of a particular group (such as a racial or religious group)
