| base (geometry-two dimensions) | one side of a triangle or parallelogram which is used to help find the area |
| base (geometry-three dimensions) | a plane figure, usually a polygon or circle, which is used to partially describe a solid figure and to help find the volume of the same solid figures |
| net | a two-dimensional pattern that can be folded into a three-dimensional polyhedron |
| pyramid | a solid figure with a polygon base and all other faces as triangles that meet at a common vertex |
| surface area | the sum of the areas of all the faces, or surfaces, of a solid figure |
| lateral area | the sum of the areas of the lateral faces of a solid |
| prism | a solid figure that has two congruent, polygon-shaped bases, and other faces that are all rectangles |
| solid figure | a three-dimensional figure having length, width, and height |
| volume | the measure of the space a solid figure occupies |
