Commutative Property You can change the order of the factors/numbers in addition and multiplication. A+B = B+A AB = BA
Associative Property The Associative Property says that the way in which you group numbers in addition and multiplication has no effect on the answer. Addition: (A + B) + C Multiplication: A x (B x C)
Additive Identity N + 0 = N
Multiplicative Identity N x 1 = N
Additive Inverse A + (-A) = 0
Multiplicative Inverse B x (1/B) = 1
The sum of a # and its additive inverse: 0
The product of a number and its multiplicative inverse: 1
Distributive Property a (b+c) = ab + ac
