L5-Mixtures and Compounds

QuestionAnswer
mixtures Made of two or more pure substances or compounds that are physically combined (mixed) together but not chemically bonded.
compound A substance that is made up of two or more elements.
element The purest form of matter that exists.
states (of matter) Gas, Liquid, Solid
energy Light, electricity, and heat. Energy is used and produced in chemical reactions.
matter Anything that has weight and takes up space.
atom The smallest part of an element that can exist alone. All mater is made of atoms.
Periodic Table of Elements A visual arrangement of the elements according to their atomic numbers so that elements with similar properties are in groups.
