Numeric and Algebraic Expressions
| Term | Definition |

| prime number | whole number greater than one with exactly two factors, 1 and itself |
| composite number | whole number greater than one with two or more factors |
| numerical expression | a mathematical expression phrase that consists of numbers and operational symbols |
| base | the repeated factor of a number written in exponential form |
| exponent | a number that shows how many times a base is used as a factor |
| power | a number expressed using an exponent |
| prime factorization | the number written as a product of prime factors |
| greatest common factor | the greatest number that is a factor of all of the numbers |
| order of operations | order of operations to perform in an expression |
| variable | a letter or symbol that represents an unknown value |
| algebraic expression | mathematical phrase containing variable, numbers and math operation symbols |
| evaluate | find the value |
| equivalent expressions | have the same value |
| like terms | terms that have identical variable parts |
