additive inverse | when two numbers have a sum of 0 |
integers | the set of positive whole number, their opposites and 0 |
inverse Property of Addition | Property that states the sum of a number and its additive inverse is 0 |
expression | a mathematical phrase that can involve variables, numbers, and operations |
sum | the answer to an addition problem |
difference | the answer you get when subtracting two numbers |
model | to represent a situation using pictures, diagrams, or number sentences |
conjecture | s statement that you believe to be true but have not yet proved to be true |
counterexample | a specific example that shows that a conjecture is false |
dividend | the number to be divided |
expense | money that a business or a person needs to spend to pay for or buy something |
income | money that business received or that a person earns from working |
loss | when expenses are greater than income |
profit | when expenses are less than income |
