TermDefinition
area The number of square units needed to cover a surface.
perimeter The sum of the lengths of the sides of a polygon.
volume A measure of the amount of space enclosed by a three-dimensional figure.
polygon A closed figure formed by a finite number of coplanar segments called sides such that the sides have a common endpoint are noncollinear and each side intersects exactly two other sides, but only at their endpoints, called the vertices.
height In a triangle, the length of an altitude drawn to a given base of a triangle.
altitude In a triangle, a segment from a vertex of the triangle to the line containing the opposite side and perpendicular to that side.
