TermDefinition
vertical asymptote A vertical line that a graph approaches, but never touches or intersects. The line x = a is a vertical asymptote if |f(x)| gets larger and larger as x approaches a.
horizontal asymptote A horizontal line that a graph approaches as |x| gets larger and larger without bound.
x-intercept A point where a graph intersects the x-axis.
y-intercept A point where a graph intersects the y-axis.
domain The set of all first components (x-values) in the ordered pairs in a relation.
range The set of all second components (y-values) in the ordered pairs in a relation.
