| horizontal asymptote | A horizontal line that a graph approaches as |x| gets larger and larger without bound. |
| holes | A hole exists on the graph of a rational function at any input value that causes both the numerator and denominator of the function to be equal to zero. Holes occur when factors can be algebraically canceled from rational functions. Removable discontinuities are also known as holes. |
| x-intercept | A point where a graph intersects the x-axis. |
| y-intercept | A point where a graph intersects the y-axis. |
