What type of mirror makes light rays converge when they reflect? concave
What does a concave mirror do to the image, when the object is far away? makes it small and inverted
Where do you see convex mirrors? in gas stations and busses
What is a real image? image formed by converging light rays; can be displayed on a screen
Is a virtual image inverted or up right? up right
What determines whether an object is a diffuse or polished reflector? wavelengths of the waves it reflects
What is one example of a diffuse reflector and one example of a polished reflector? diffuse: paper, polished: mirror
Why is paper a diffuse reflector? very rough surface for light rays so they reflect in many directions
Is a polished surface considered polished for all wavelengths? no, may be polished for long but not for short wavelengths
What reflects more sound, rigid and smooth or soft and irregulare surfaces? rigid and smooth
What happens to sound that is not reflected? it's absorbed or transmitted
What is acoustics? study of reflective properties of surfaces
Reverberations, caused by very reflective walls, can do what to sound? garble it
