Separatism The breaking away of one part of a country to create a separate independent country
Loyalist An American colonist who remained loyal to the British Government
Emigrate To leave one’s own country to settle permanently in another
Old growth forest Complex forest that has developed over a long period of time and is relatively untouched by human activity
