| Term | Definition |

| Solar System | The gravitationally bound system comprising the Sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly |
| Planets | An astronomical body orbiting a star or stellar remnant that is massive enough to be rounded by its own gravit |
| Stars | A type of astronomical object consisting of a bright light sphere of plasma held together by its own gravity. |
| Asteroids | Any astronomical object orbiting the Sun that does not show the characteristics of a planet or an active comet |
| Outer Space | The space/area that exists between the planets in the Solar System |
| Gravity | The attraction that pulls surfaces towards the surface of planets. Shown by the letter "g" |

| Comet | An icy small body that, when passing close to the Sun, warms and begins to release gases, a process called out-gassing producing a visible coma or tail |
| Dwarf Planet | A body resembling a small planet but lacking certain characteristics needed to make it a planet proper |
| Orbit | The path an object takes when travelling around a larger planet or the Sun. It is influenced by Gravity. |
