Number Patterns and Recusions

A sequence is A list of numbers in a particular order
Items in a sequence are called terms
If the term is listed as T10 it is the tenth term in the sequence
Arithmetic sequences add or subtract a fixed amount from the previous term
The common difference is the amount added or subtracted to an arithmetic sequence
The recurrence relation rule is tn+1 = tn + d
To find the nth term of an arithmetic sequence, the rule is tn= a + (n-1)d
The common ratio is the fixed multiple between terms in a geometric sequence
The rule for common ratio is any term / the previous term
Finding the nth term of a geometric sequence tn= ar^ (n-1)
