After Samneric think they see the beast the boys have a meeting. Jack and Ralph argue, and what happens with the conch? Jack says they don't need the conch anymore.
Boys decide to explore Castle Rock to find the beast. Who goes first up the mountain? Jack because he said it was a hunter's job.
Towards the end of the book, when Ralph hits a pig with his spear, how does he react? Happy and excited
What was a part of the boys chant about killing a pig? Kill the pig! Cut it's throat!
When Jack decides to have the boys re-vote for chief, who wins? Ralph
When Jack looses the re-vote to Ralph, how does he react? He says he is not going to play anymore. Walks off by himself.
When Simon hallucinates in the forest, what does he talk to? What is it really? The Lord of the Flies, really a pig's head on a stick
What does the Lord of the Flies tell Simon? Evil is inside everyone, violence is coming
When Simon finds out that the beastie is really a dead parachutist, he goes to tell the other boys. How do the boys react? They do not recognize Simon. They kill him.
Why does Jack steal Piggy's glasses? To make his own fire
How does Piggy die? He is crushed by a boulder
What happens to the conch at the end of the book? It is smashed with Piggy
When Ralph is hiding from Jack, he sees Samneric. What do Samneric tell Ralph? That Jack is trying to hunt and kill him.
When Jack finds out that Ralph was talking to Samneric. What does he do? Tortures them into telling him where Ralph was hiding.
How does Jack get Ralph to come out of the forest? Sets it on fire
After the forest is set on fire and Ralph ends up on the beach. Who does he run into? A naval officer
What is Ralph crying over at the end of the book? He is crying over Piggy and how the boys became evil.

When Ralph is disgusted by his dirty clothes and long hair, what does this tell us about him? He has realized that the boys have changed from being on the island. He daydreams about home.
How does Ralph treat the littleuns? He is nice to them. Caring, comforting.

What does Piggy do all day on the island? Lays around, lazy, does not help or hunt

What is an example of the theme: Evil can come out in everyone if we let it. Almost all boys participated in Simon's murder, all boys were hunting Ralph.
What is an example of the theme: With no rules, society and order can vanish. No one was listening or working, boys talking without the conch, doing whatever they wanted, going to the bathroom anywhere, messy
What is an example of the theme: Innocence can be diminished given certain scenarios. Being on the island, participating in these actions, have changed the boys' lives forever.
What is an example of the theme: Without a leader, society can crumble. Jack's group only cares about hunting. No one cares about being rescued anymore.
What is an example of the theme: savagery can overtake civilized people. The situation changed the boys from civilized to savage, murderers.
What is an example of the theme: Abuse of power can lead to dangerous situations. Jack ties up and tortures Samneric and other boys for no reason.
