| Point | An exact position in space |
| Line | A straight path that goes on forever in both directions |
| Line Segment | A part of a line with two endpoints |
| Ray | A part of a line with one endpoint |
| Intersecting Lines | Lines that cross forming an X |
| Perpendicular Lines | Lines that cross forming right angles (square corners) |
| Parallel Lines | Lines that never meet or cross |
| Angle | Formed when two line segments share the same endpoint |
| Right angle | A 90 degree angle with a square corner |
| Acute angle | An angle less than 90 degrees |
| Obtuse Angle | An angle greater than 90 degrees |
| Polygon | A closed figure made up of three or more sides |
| Vertex | A point where two sides of a polygon meet |
| Quadrilateral | Any polygon that has four sides and four angles |
| Pentagon | A polygon with five sides and five angles |
| Hexagon | A polygon with six sides and six angles |
| Octogon | A polygon with eight sides and eight angles |
| Rhombus | A quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides and all sides the same length |
| Trapezoid | A quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides |
| Parallelogram | A quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides |
| Slide | A figure slides along a straight line to a new position |
| Flip | A figure flips over a line, looks like a reflection |
| Turn | A figure turns around on a point or rotates |
| Line of Symmetry | A fold line that cuts a figure in half so that both sides match exactly |
| Congruent | Figures that are the same shape and same size |
