Surface Area, Volume, Composite Shapes
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Area | The space inside the boundaries of a 2D shape |
| Volume | The capacity. The space within a 3D shape. Often expressed in mL or L |
| Perimeter | The continuous line around the outside of a figure |
| Circumference | The perimeter of a circle |
| Pi | An irrational number that expresses the ratio of a circles circumference to its diamter |
| Conversion | The change from one form to another form |
| Total Surface Area | The sum of the areas of all the outside faces of a 3D figure |
| Composite Shape | A shape that is made of more than one 2D shape. For example a half circle placed on the top of a rectangle |
| Square Units | The units for area |
| Cubic Units | The units for volume |
| Sum | Implies addition |
