By the fountain a blue Mustang pulls up and Soc's get out including Bob and Randy, both are drunk and looking for trouble. After exchanging insults, Bob decided Ponyboy "needs a bath." He thinks it means being "green" or good and innocent like when you are a kid. He tells Pony that he shouldn't get hard like Dally and that he should stay innocent.
What does Pony decide to write his literature paper about? He writes about the events that have happened over the past few weeks. We later learn that we are reading the novel that he actually wrote for his literature paper.

Describe how Johnny passes away and compare it to Dally's death. From the fire, Johnny has a broken back and 3rd degree burns, he is in the hospital and not doing well. Dally and Pony visit him and Johnny dies quietly, his head sinks into the pillow. Dally's death was loud and intentional.
