Function An activity or purpose natural to or intended for a person or thing.
Relation The way in which two or more concepts, objects, or people are connected; a thing's effect on or relevance to another.
Independent Variable A variable (often denoted by x ) whose variation does not depend on that of another.
Dependent Variable A variable (often denoted by y ) whose value depends on that of another.
Domain An area of territory owned or controlled by a ruler or government.
Range The area of variation between upper and lower limits on a particular scale.
Slope A surface of which one end or side is at a higher level than another; a rising or falling surface.
Y-intercept Every straight line can be represented by an equation: y = mx + b.
Linear Equation An equation between two variables that gives a straight line when plotted on a graph.
