Ohio Air Vocabulary - Personal Edition

Close Reading The intentional removal of words from a section to force readers to infer the context of the passage and provide filler words for the removed words.
Delinate To describe or outline with precision.
Diction The stylistic choice, the use of words, and the phrases in speech or writing.
Grapheme A written representation of a phoneme (a sound); may be a single letter or group of words.
e.i. That is...; used to state something more clearly.
Meter The recurrence, in regular units, of a prominent feature in a sequence of speech sounds, usually in poetry
Nuance A subtle difference in a shade of meaning, expression, or sound
