| street | the road that cars travel on |
| sidewalk | a small walk on the side of the street for walking |
| gutter | a drain in the street for water to flow into |
| traffic light | lights that control cars |
| crosswalk | a marking on a street to help people cross |
| corner | the point where two streets meet |
| streetlight | light on the street |
| fire hydrant | firefighters hook the water hose to this |
| parking meter | you have to put money in here to park on the street |
| trash can | you put garbage in here |
| pay phone | you pay money to call someone |
| street sign | this has the name of the street on it |
| store sign | this has the name of the store on it |
| manhole cover | a round cover on top of a manhole |
| pedestrian | anyone walking along a street |
| intersection | this is where two streets cross each other |
| tunnel | a hole under the ground for cars to cross |
| roundabout | a circular roadway |
| bridge | a structure built over a river |
| shops | stores to buy things |
| newsstand | a place to buy newspapers and magazines |
| curb | the part of the street that rises up to the sidewalk |
| traffic | lots of cars traveling on the streets |
